The NRA basic pistol course is designed for both the beginner and experienced shooter. This course teaches the basic fundamentals of shooting. You will learn the NRA’s gun safety rules, range commands, the different pistol parts and how they operate, fundamentals of shooting, gun storage and how to properly clean your gun. The course includes both classroom instruction and range time where the lessons learned will be put into practical use. Students will receive the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, Winchester Marksmanship guide and, after passing a written and practical test, you will be issued a certificate of completion. Students will need a pistol and approximately 150-200 rounds of ammunition. You may use any caliber pistol, including .22’s. If you do not have a pistol, let me know ahead of time, and I can rent one to you for $20. Students will also need ear and eye protection and proper clothing and footwear for the range.
The course covers range fees but not ammunition costs.
